    • Begin conversations with other cities to replicate the Justice Coalition model 

    • ​The CJC builds capacity by supporting grassroots organizing and advocacy that empower communities across Virginia to reimagine public safety. The Coalition helps organizations and residents develop the skills, networks, and strategies needed to sustain long-term change in public safety systems.

Restorative Practices 

Gun Violence & Community Safety 

  • Decreasing the number of guns in the city and shootings in neighborhoods while advancing deescalation efforts and collaborations 

Reentry

  • Strategically grow reentry services to be more Coordinated, Comprehensive, and Connected 

  • Create and publish Second Chance Business and Second Chance Housing/Landlord lists (business and landlords willing to support and engage people returning home from jail or prison)
