The CJC builds capacity by supporting grassroots organizing and advocacy that empower communities across Virginia to reimagine public safety. The Coalition helps organizations and residents develop the skills, networks, and strategies needed to sustain long-term change in public safety systems.

Increasing the use of restorative practices in Charlottesville, particularly with schools, faith spaces, and community referrals to Central Virginia Community Justice
Gun Violence & Community Safety

Decreasing the number of guns in the city and shootings in neighborhoods while advancing deescalation efforts and collaborations

Strategically grow reentry services to be more Coordinated, Comprehensive, and Connected
