Start Your Own Justice Coalition
Justice Coalitions do not need to look like the CJC or Valley Justice Coalition. A Justice Coalition can be adapted to meet the needs local advocates identify.
Our Process
- 1Announce your first virtual gathering and set a date a few months out
- 2Build an email list of people interested in local justice work
- 3Launch and maintain a rhythm of meeting virtually (twice-monthly) and in-person for summits (quarterly)
- 4Adapt to meet local needs — every coalition looks different
Initiatives to Consider
- ●Regular gatherings (in-person, virtual, or both)
- ●Hosting speakers to share expertise at meetings
- ●Newsletter gathering local justice-related events
- ●Topic-specific in-person summits
- ●Rapid-response local organizing
- ●Presence at local civic spaces (City Council, school board, jail board)
- ●General Assembly engagement for justice-related bills
- ●Being a bridge between justice-minded individuals and organizations
